Physical characteristics:

Diamondback Terrapins have a low, greyish-brown carapace and a lighter colored plastron which is greenish-yellow. Their back has distinctive diamond shaped markings. They can grow to be 4-9 inches in length.

Salt marshes, estuaries, tidal flats and barrier beach lagoons
