Physical Characteristics:
Red-Spotted Newts color and form changes drastically as it ages. Young newts are bright red with small red spots ringed with dark halos. They live mostly on land. Adults are yellowish grey with similar spots and live in the water. They can grow to be 2-6 inches in length.
Preferred habitat:
Adults are found in calm waters, while young newts are found in moist, wooded uplands
