Physical Characteristics:

Northern Slimy Salamanders have black coloring with silver or gold spots on the body. If agitated, they can release a sticky, glue-like substance that can be difficult to remove. They can grow to be 4.5-8 inches in length.

Preferred habitat:

Moist woodland ravines or hillsides
